Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern the use of Kiovio (the “Service”), a learning-support service provided by Ken Uehara (the “Operator”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy.

The Service generates learning candidates from conversation text displayed in services such as ChatGPT and lets you review material you approve as cards, quizzes, and a visual Learning Map.

• The Chrome extension captures text from the open supported page only when you click its icon.
• Generated candidates are not saved automatically. Only material you select and approve is added to the learning library.
• Available features, supported browsers, and usage limits are those shown in the Service or on the Pricing page.

Some features may be tried without an account. Continued use, cross-device synchronization, and paid features require an account created with an accurate, accessible email address.

• You are responsible for protecting sign-in links, devices, and account access and must not lend or share them with another person.
• Contact the Operator promptly if you suspect unauthorized use.
• Settings checks whether self-service account deletion is available. Accounts with billing records currently require verified Support assistance. Learning content can be deleted separately; that does not cancel a subscription. Required legal or accounting records may be retained separately.

Free

The first three successful AI conversation imports are free for the lifetime of the account. Existing cards and review history remain available.

Pro monthly

$9 per month, with up to 30 successful AI conversation imports per subscription month. Taxes may apply.

Unused Pro imports do not roll over. Pro renews monthly until canceled, and the renewal fee is charged to the registered payment method.

You may cancel before the next renewal date. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period. Prorated refunds are not ordinarily provided except where required by law or where the Operator is responsible for a qualifying failure. Cards already created remain available for core review, while new AI imports return to Free limits.

We will give advance notice of a price change and its effective date in the Service or by email. See Pricing and the Commercial Disclosure for complete sales terms.

You are responsible for having the rights and permissions required for every conversation or other input you import. Do not import another person’s personal information, confidential information, or copyrighted material without authorization.

You must not:

• Violate applicable law, public policy, or another person’s rights
• Attempt unauthorized access, bypass authentication, obtain free allowances improperly, automate excessive requests, or disrupt operation of the Service
• Submit malware, harmful code, or malicious instructions
• Analyze, copy, or modify the Service or a third-party system beyond what applicable law permits
• Impersonate another person or sell or transfer an account

Candidates, explanations, questions, and answers may be generated using automated AI processing. They may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for the context. Review and edit every candidate before saving it.

• The Service is a learning aid and does not guarantee any learning outcome, examination result, or level of retention.
• Do not use it as a substitute for medical, legal, financial, safety, or other professional judgment.
• If generated material seems wrong, do not save it; check the original conversation and a reliable source.

These Terms do not transfer to the Operator any rights you hold in submitted conversations or learning cards you approve or edit. You authorize the Operator to process that information only as needed to provide the Service, synchronize and back up approved data, and prevent abuse.

The Operator may temporarily suspend all or part of the Service for maintenance, incident response, security, or the unavailability of an external provider. Planned interruptions will be announced in advance where reasonably possible.

The Operator may change the Service or these Terms. Materially adverse changes will be announced with their effective date. If the Service is discontinued, the Operator will provide reasonable notice and, where possible, a way to retrieve data.

The Operator may restrict access or suspend an account for a material breach of these Terms. Except for urgent security action, the Operator will try to give notice where the issue can reasonably be corrected.

Limitation of responsibility

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided as is. Nothing in these Terms excludes or improperly limits liability that cannot be excluded under consumer-protection law or other applicable law, including liability for intentional misconduct or gross negligence where applicable.

Severability

If any part of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.

Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. The parties will first attempt to resolve disputes in good faith; unresolved disputes will be submitted to the court with jurisdiction under applicable law.
